Calendars!!!

Mon Nov 16, 2009, 1:43 AM
Yes, this is awesome! I've found a site that will let me put together a calendar for 2010. So I threw some of my renders together, made them the appropriate size and selected months they'd be good for, and voila! 2010 Calendars for everyone! This is calendar season! And I do say... $15 is a good price for a calendar of original digital artwork, wouldn't you say? I really don't see much of that myself, they're kinda costly to make. But it's supply and demand, so they won't have any unbought calendars sitting around... they only make them when ordered.

This being calendar season, you should get yours. They're only 12 month, I didn't include December 09, but that's alright, right?

Anyway, take a look! [link]

EDIT: Or you can get this one... I think it's better... same calendar, one different picture, new cover. [link]

Journal History

deviantID

I'm a traditional artist, I use pencil and colored pencil mostly. When it comes to comic stuff, I ink with uniball pens.

I abhor oil paints, but I'll use just about any other paint, tho I don't make a habit of it. My favorite paint is watercolor... it's so adverse in what it can do. But mostly, I just stick to my pencils and colored pencils.

As you can probably tell, I've recently gotten into 3D rendering. The program I use is called DAZ Studio 3.0 and you can find it here: [link] I found it through a link here on DA to get it for free and have not regretted it yet. It's fun to use, easy to learn, and the possibilities are virtually endless. Anyway, I'll quit advertising now. Enjoy my presentations! :)

not a problem. Honestly, I was relieved to see something fresh from you. For awhile, it looked like you were just playing around with newly acquired outfits and just doing pinup model poses with them. Don't get me wrong, they all looked great... but I want to be wowed every now and then :) No offense meant :) Love your stuff anyway... just hadn't grabbed my attention lately.

Irony: R. Lee Ermey was the drill segeant in "Full Metal Jacket". 2 decades later, he's Tommy Lee's boss in "Man of the House". In this movie, one of the cheerleaders tells Tommy that her favorite movie is "Full Metal Jacket."

Anyone else notice that?

Couldn't do anything very ambitious with P8 because my laptop only had 512 megs of RAM and groaned during rendering with Indirect Light. It actually locked up on one render. Then my laptop got a Trojan and I went off line until Geeksquad could come and zap it. At the same time I decided to put more RAM in the laptop because that was cheaper than getting a new laptop which I can't really afford at this time. Was working on the Quantum Wastelander at that time. Decided to re-render before posting. I had a different background that utilized a wallpaper picture from the Fallout game. Since this is fan art, I wasn't quite sure if it was all right to use the wallpaper in the image or not. So, I decided to do a render without the wallpaper as a backdrop and posted that instead.

okay, I can see what the hold up was. I'm not much better here...
Carrara 7 Pro on a 1GB RAM system. But, Carrara, fortunately, renders rather quickly, faster than DAZ Studio, that much I'm sure of, anyway.

Trojan = Avast. Free. Online registration is free. Updates its database twice daily. Can't beat that. It's helped me out a lot. Give it a try. My geeksquad recommends it.
